Desiderata

Written by Max Ehrmann in the 1920s... and, not found in Old St. Paul's in Baltimore, Maryland  in 1692... as thought by so many. The author, a poet and lawyer from Terre Haute, Indiana, lived from 1872 to 1945 and wrote in his diary of an urge to write Desiderata. "I should like, if I could, to leave
a humble gift... a bit of chaste prose that had
caught up some noble moods." And, so he did.

Desiderata is Latin for "Things to be desired."

An excerpt from Desiderata is engraved on your beautiful pewter piece. Enjoy it in peace.

"Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul."
